Mission Is Possible: Fostering Excellence

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to walk into one of Canada’s leading independent schools with a storied 113-year history, succeed a highly successful Principal (Rosemary Evans) and make an exceptional place even better.

As you know, I accepted this mission and assumed the role of Principal on August 1. After only a few days on the job, I am pleased to report that anything feels possible.

My transition has been made seamless with the support of the Board of Directors, our outgoing Principal Rosemary Evans, as well as the entire UTS community, who have welcomed me with characteristic warmth and exemplary briefings. I so look forward to meeting the students and families who will soon join us for the 2023-2024 school year.

In advance of starting my new “mission”, I have been working to understand what makes UTS tick and what makes us unique. It is evident to me that our school is built on a solid foundation of strong values, a commitment to excellence and a willingness to enter into brave and honest conversations in the service of ongoing improvement. How wonderful it will be to build on such remarkable strengths as we explore the road ahead.

As a new school year unfolds, I hope you will accept this exciting mission with me. Let’s work together to nurture and strengthen our diverse and talented community. With a tradition of excellence as our humble starting point, I have no doubt we can achieve the impossible and make UTS an even better place where we dare, dream and leap into the future with open hearts and minds.
