Fostering Brilliance

We are our relationships – the connections that flow between us help make us who we are, enlighten us and can even transform us.

As a school, UTS thrives on the power of our connections between staff, students, alumni, parents and the broader community. Especially for our younger students, the quality of relationships can have a profound impact on their lives as they learn and grow. We don’t want our students to be successful solely in academics; we want them to thrive – to be happy, to have a sense of purpose and a sense of belonging to something greater than themselves.

Support UTS Students Today

You will have received our Board Chair, Peter Buzzi's letter, sharing his compelling story of being a UTS bursary recipient and how the UTS community supported him. You can help current students who, like Peter did, also face financial challenges by making your donation today! Provide more students with opportunities!

Gifts of Securities

You can make a big impact by donating securities! Tabulate the tax savings that your UTS donation offers with this interactive tool. Making a gift of publicly traded stocks, bonds and other securities is a tax-smart and easy way to support UTS. All direct gifts of securities are currently exempt from capital gains tax which makes them a popular donation vehicle. Download the form on our ways to give page.

Please note that our broker's deadline for guaranteeing a 2023 settlement is December 8; after that it is a best effort to settle the securities year.

Alternative Minimum Tax

Alternative Minimum Tax changes are coming January 1st! This change to Canadian tax law will mostly affect those who earn $300,000 or more per year in non-employment income (dividend income, real estate sale, for example) - you are encouraged to consult with your financial advisor. This may be the year you consider a larger gift to UTS to enjoy a bigger tax credit before this tax takes effect.
