Course Selection Nights: January 15 to 17

Emails with the webinar links have been sent to parent inboxes for Course Selection Nights happening next week.

Course Selection Nights

  • F1 into F2 Course Selection Night: Monday, January 15 from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

  • F2 into M3 Course Selection Night: Monday, January 15 from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.

  • M3 into M4 Course Selection Night: Tuesday, January 16 from 6 to 6:45 p.m.

  • M4 into S5 Course Selection Night: Tuesday, January 16, from 7 to 7:45 p.m.

  • S5 into S6 Course Selection Night: Wednesday, January 17 from 6 to 6:45 p.m.

Available on the Parent Portal now:

  • Your child’s Guidance Counsellor’s presentation

  • A Quick Guide to Course Selection

  • An FAQ on Course Selection

  • Forms to submit your questions ahead of time.


Parent-Teacher Interviews in February

Parent-Teacher Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, February 13 from noon to 8 p.m. and Friday, February 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We encourage parents who have specific concerns or questions to meet with teachers. If there are no concerns, no appointment is necessary. 

The Pick-A-Time portal for Parents and Guardians to book interviews with teachers will open at 9 a.m. on February 1 and close on February 8.


F1 & M3 International Schools Assessment (ISA)

In their period 1 and 2 classrooms on February 6 and 7 all F1 and M3 students will complete the International Schools Assessment (ISA).

This standardized assessment evaluates students’ mathematical, reading, writing and scientific literacy.

Flame Fresh Lunch Menu

Here are the January menus from Flame Fresh including the list of ingredients.

For January in addition to the regular menu they are offering a vegetarian menu in hopes of ensuring there are options for everyone.

Please check out their tasty new vegetarian options. 


Mindful Munch Lunch Menu

UTS is also offering a hot lunch menu through Mindful Munch.

Please see the menu with a QR code to scan and place orders as well as the list of list of ingredients.


Post-Secondary Update

S6 students and families are reminded that the OUAC deadline to apply for “fair and equal consideration” is January 15.

Students are asked to compare admission averages with their December report card results, and to add to their choices if necessary.

Supplementary application deadlines (if applicable) often fall in January and February; students should refer to their university portals for specific information.


Summer Experience Program Information Session

UTSPA is hosting our annual Summer Experience Program (SEP) this summer 2024, which involves giving UTS students a brief experience of your work environment and sharing your knowledge, thoughts and enthusiasm about your profession with them!

March Break Camps

Registration for UTS March Break Camps has opened, and is available here

Programs include Hands on Math, Debate, Maximum City and Act Two Drama.

Sock and Toiletry Drive

From January 11 to 25, the Student Outreach Coordinators (SOCs) will be collecting toiletries and grocery gift cards for the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA), distributing to 10 shelters and housing services across Toronto.

Please bring in the following donation items to the atrium, labelled with your student’s name and grade.

  • Socks

  • New bedsheets and/or blankets (size double)

  • Regular size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant

  • Winter jackets and winter boots (gently used and in good condition accepted)

  • Hats/gloves/scarves/mitts (only new accepted)

  • Household items: dish soap, paper towels, detergent

  • Adult incontinence pads

  • Toothbrushes/toothpaste


Tips for the Winter Season

The following are some of the ways that we can help protect our school community from respiratory illnesses:

  • Stay home if you are experiencing symptoms of illness. Symptoms may include sore throat, stuffy nose, headache, tiredness, fatigue. 

  • Wash or sanitize your hands often, and cover your cough/sneeze into your elbow or a tissue.

  • Consider wearing a well-fitted, high-quality mask in crowded areas with poor ventilation, especially for those who are at higher risk of severe illness.

  • Consider getting your COVID-19 boosters and Influenza vaccine.

The UTS Shop is the place to go for UTSers to show their school pride! 

By student request, new ¼ zip sweatshirts and ½ zip sweatshirts are now available in adult and youth sizes!

UTS socks are also available in a new style!
