Fostering Brilliance

Earlier this fall, UTS welcomed 22 master of teaching candidates from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) to observe the teaching that takes place in real-life classrooms, as part of their journey to becoming full-fledged teachers. In November, the first cohort of six returned for a five-week placement, partnered with a UTS teacher in their area of expertise, with whom they will share teaching responsibilities.

No classes on Friday, November 17, 2023

Friday, November 17 is a day for parent teacher interviews. Students will not have classes and should be working on work assigned for next week.

Foundation Vaccination Clinic - Toronto Public Health
Consent forms Due November 23, 2023
Vaccination Clinic on December 4, 2023

Toronto Public Health will be on site at UTS on December 4 to provide school vaccinations to F1 students. F2 students are also invited to participate if missing any of their own vaccinations.

Please read this letter from Toronto Public Health about the process. If seeking an exemption from the vaccinations, click here. Exemptions are decided by Toronto Public Health. 

Consent forms were sent home today with the students. Please complete the consent forms and return them to the Main Office by Thursday, November 23.


AP Exam Payment Due
November 24, 2023

On-time AP exam registration is now closed. Parents can access invoices and pay for exams using the Parent Portal.  

Payments are due November 24. Late payments will be subject to additional fees (AP Fee Overview 2023-24).

Families are encouraged to ensure the invoices match the exams their students want to write (students will only be registered for AP exams appearing on the invoice).

UTS Language Exchange Program
Expression of Interest due January 12, 2024

Current F2 and M3 students who are interested in participating in the UTS Language Exchange Program during the 2024-25 academic year are asked to fill in this form, which is due by Friday, January 12, 2024.

Volunteers Needed for Fulford Debate
January 13, 2024

UTS is hosting the Fulford International Debate on January 13, 2024.

As part of this experience, UTS is looking for 50 volunteers to help judge the debates and provide feedback to the participants.

By signing up for this role, you will be asked to have Vulnerable Sector Screening as this volunteer position works directly with students.
